About The Jade Turtle

Chinese Tea with intention. A place to slow down, connect with nature and simply be.

The Jade Turtle is a tea house in Buffalo, New York. It is listed at 1007 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY 14222, which places it among the local businesses of Buffalo that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Buffalo. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in New York are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 12–8 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach The Jade Turtle at (716) 949-6559; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is instagram.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 5.0 out of 5 from 65 reviews, which is a strong result for a tea house in Buffalo and suggests consistent service.

Cozy and chill tea shop. The owner is very knowledgeable and welcoming. There is a strong community vibe to the space and it's set up in a way that lends itself to easy mingling with other patrons while you enjoy your tea.

The best way to experience The Jade Turtle is to arrive with an open heart, an open mind, and your phone tucked away. Jonni doesn’t start by asking what tea you’d like. He asks how you’re feeling, then guides you through a Gongfu Cha experience that feels uniquely suited to that moment. Beyond the tea, you’ve stepped into a space where every detail has been considered with care. The layout, furnishings, energy, and atmosphere all invite you to slow down, be present, and simply be. It’s rare to find a place so intentional, welcoming, and affordable. The Jade Turtle isn’t just a tea house, it’s an invitation to reconnect with yourself.

Absolutely amazing experience. Johnny was able to seat a group of ten of us and gave us exceptional care. He helped us choose teas and did a wonderful job explaining each tea’s history and profile. The teas were all delicious as well!

What an absolutely wonderful place, definitely a new favorite spot! From the moment we walked in the door, it was just clearly such a welcoming space. The lovely owner, John, immediately greeted us and got us settled at the bar. Definitely the place to be if you want to soak up all the tea knowledge and just have a really nice time chatting with John and other patrons. It was a really communal atmosphere with everyone engaged in conversation and connection with others. I can't wait to come back and introduce more people to this great spot!
